Gaura Purnima, one of the most holiest of festivals is just around the corner and with great happiness , we welcome you all to the festival celebrations on coming Sunday (March 28th).

Gaura Purnima is the auspicious appearance day of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu (who is also known as Gauranga due to His golden complexion). This festival also marks the beginning of the New Year for Gaudiya Vaishnavas.

The Supreme Lord Sri Krishna appeared as Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu in the mood of Srimati Radha Rani, to establish Sankirtana (chanting of the Holy Names) – the Yuga Dharma for this age of Kali. He appeared on Phalguni Purnima, the full moon day in the month of Phalguna, (Feb-March) in the year 1486 AD (1407 Shakabda) at Sridham Mayapura as the son of Sri Jagannath Mishra and Srimati Sachi devi. His appearance day is celebrated as Gaura Purnima. On this day, devotees fast till moonrise and break their fast by taking anukalpa feast (made from non-grains).

Taking the role of His own devotee, Lord Shri Krishna appeared about five centuries ago in Bengal, India, and began a revolution in spiritual consciousness that has profoundly affected the lives of millions worldwide. His teachings are profound yet when applied in our lives right now helps us attain the love of Godhead easily. Join us as we hear on the subtleties of the Lord’s teachings (Sri Gaura Katha) and how it is very applicable to each of us.

Those who witnessed the Lord’s pastimes saw Him dance and chant with ecstatic love for God, the likes of which had never seen before. Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu encouraged everyone to dance and chant to the Holy Name of the Lord – regardless of background or spiritual qualification – which will develop their innate love of God and experience great spiritual pleasure and bliss.

We extend a warm welcome to you and your family to join us for this online celebration and look forward to your association !!!
